Company Overview
Our firm is dedicated to achieving the best possible outcome in every case for which we are retained. We are a four attorney firm established in 1883. Our team is able to dedicate an extraordinary amount of time to our practice and our clients. We always want to win and do not ever want to settle on providing "average" representation. There are creative solutions to most legal problems and our goal is to achieve the ultimate outcome our clients desire.
While we have a rich history, we are equally progressive and modern. We utilize sophisticated technology to provide efficiency and a competitive edge. While we have an expansive client base, we continue to experience rapid growth due to our experience and reputation. We are constantly working to improve and demand the same of our staff and attorneys.
We are looking to find an attorney who values not only intelligence and success, but also values family and developing genuine professional relationships in the community. We pride ourselves on a "family-first" policy. We recognize each of our team members has commitments outside the office and therefore permit a more unconventional schedule. This has proven successful without compromising our work product and our client satisfaction.
Our current opening provides for a very unique opportunity for a satisfying, life-long career. The characteristics expressed above are highly important to us and therefore will weigh more heavily in our decision making process than experience. Minimal experience required.
Starting salary is negotiable. However, professional and salary growth will develop quickly for the right candidate.
Company History
The origins of the Firm can be traced to Milton McClure, who opened his law practice in Beardstown in the Spring of 1883. Milton’s son, Lloyd, joined the practice in 1912. Milton passed away the following year. Lloyd led the McClure Firm until his passing in 1946. The Firm continued under the leadership of Lloyd’s son, Milton, who upon returning from service in World War II in 1946, provided the Firm’s vision until his retirement in 1981.
L. Milton McClure joined his father in 1969 after returning from service in the United States Army in Vietnam.
Thomas J. Brannan joined the Firm in 1973 and practiced with the Firm for the next 35 years until his appointment as an Associate Circuit Judge in February 2009.
George S. McClure joined his father and brother in 1975, and practiced with the Firm until his retirement in 2010.
Bob G. Hardwick, Jr., joined the Firm in 1978, practicing with the Firm for 24 years until his election as Circuit Judge of Cass County in 2002.
Luke A. Thomas joined the Firm in 2003 and became a partner in 2005. He serves as managing partner of the Firm.
Gwendolyn M. Thomas joined the Firm in 2006 and became a partner in 2010.
Carrie L. Magerl joined the Firm as an associate attorney in 2009.
The attorneys of the Firm remain committed to serving the residents of Midwest Central Illinois, as the Firm has done since 1883. The Firm’s longevity is attributable to the values instilled from each previous generation—Integrity, Commitment, Professionalism, and Compassion.
