Description

The Village of Ford Heights seeks interested applicants to fill the position of outside Corporation Counsel.  This position serves as the chief legal advisor for the Village, providing professional legal work under the direction of the Mayor and in support of the policies set by the Board of Trustees.

The individual or firm is responsible for providing legal counsel and representation to the Village in a wide range of legal matters, including but not limited to labor and employment, collective bargaining, public policy, land transfers, contracts and agreements, code and ordinance violations, litigation and general affairs. Responsibilities include representing the Village’s interest in a myriad of legal issues and collaboration with other legal counsel as necessary.

Requirements

Candidates must have a Juris Doctorate degree from a ABA accredited law school with three years of relevant experience preferably in the areas of municipal law. Candidates must be licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.
